Variety Reports that producer Lloyd Levin (Hellboy, Watchmen) has just secured the screen rights to ‘Echo’, a comic book series by Strangers in Paradise creator Terry Moore. ‘Echo’ tells the story of a photographer who is preoccupied with her personal problems until she gets doused by liquid metal from a military experiment gone awry. She discovers she can now harness the power of a nuclear bomb, and soon the military wants its walking weapon. ‘Echo’ is an original, fresh take on the classic story telling mechanism of ordinary person being thrown into an extraordinary circumstance. It’s a very entertaining comic that has something for everyone. A film adaptation of Echo would be fine but female character driven movies usually don’t sell well. TV would be a much better market. In fact Moore said that he envisioned the first 18-issue series of Echo as the first season of a television series.
