Apparently it wasn’t just me. Across the globe, fellow social networking enthusiasts experienced difficulty Thursday morning – and even into midday – attempting to update their Facebook status and Tweet.
According to the Associated Press, Facebook and Twitter reported that they experienced a “denial-of-service” attack in which a hacker, or a group of hackers, flood websites with so many false requests, that legitimate one’s by real users can’t be processed.
At the time of this blog, Facebook and Twitter are still experiencing technical difficulties with only intermitent service available. Spokespersons for both websites have stated they are looking into the incident.
