Slashfilm reports that the king of dick and fart jokes, Kevin Smith has announced plans to conduct a 24 hour Q&A on Twitter. For one whole uninterrupted day KS will be answering and responding to @ replies on Labor Day (Mon., Sep. 7th). This Tweet-A-Thon is a publicity stunt in promotion for Smith’s latest book “Shooting’ the shit With Kevin Smith”. A press release for this event has surfaced (after the jump) and Smith has provided a pretty hilarious qoute.
“This is not news at all. In fact, it’s kinda stupid. But I wanna see if I can do it. I’ve been training for this my whole life, simply by being a lazy fat-ass who’d rather stare at a screen than better himself with a brisk constitutional. Someone asked what my training regiment is gonna be, and I told them I’ve already stockpiled lots of Count Chocula.”

KEVIN SMITH INSTIGATES 24-HOUR LABOR DAY TWITTER MARATHON
Smith’s ‘Tweet-A-Thon’ First Ever Day-Long Fan Outreach
LOS ANGELES, CA. SEPTEMBER 3, 2009—Filmmaker Kevin Smith will conduct a 24 hour online Q&A at Twitter for an uninterrupted 24 hours when he begins communicating with some of his 1.25 million Twitter followers on the morning of Labor Day, Monday, September 7.
Promoting his latest book, “Shootin’ the Sh*t With Kevin Smith”, as well as a 15 city international speaking tour that starts this month, Smith will answer as many questions as he can over the course of the day. The 24 hours will start from the posting of that morning’s first Tweet.
I’m siked for this event and commend Smith for taking on such an exhausting challenge but I’m curious on how this will play out. I’m sure we can expect a lot of raunchy humor and all sorts of info regarding Smith’s past, future and current work but a Q&A on twitter is a bizarre venue for Smith. As many of you know Twitter has a 140 character limit. So how can individual who is known for epic story telling and excessive rants be able to restrict himself to a mere sentence and a half? I guess will just have to wait and see. If you don’t have the opportunity to tune in to this event and or do not follow Smith on Twitter (heres his address http://twitter.com/ThatKevinSmith), Nerdbastards has got you covered. Will have a full report for you on Tues.
As far as “Shootin’ the Sh*t With Kevin Smith,” goes the book with arrive in stores September 22. This volume of essays collects the best moments of Smith’s freewheeling conversations with his friend and producer Scott Mosier, as heard on their top-rated podcast, known as the “SModcast”, which attracts up to a hundred thousand downloads every week. Lewd, and hilariously crude, “Shootin’ The Sh*t” topics range from the genesis of Stalin’s Monkey Soldier army, to the horrifying tale of Kevin vs. Steak Tartare, and how Kevin was once willing to let Alanis Morissette get mugged
