(Note: This pic is fake (obviously) but the question here is does Brad Pitt make He-man look any less gay?)
Well hot dam, that was fast. Just a few weeks ago we reported (via variety) that Warner Bros. and Mattel had a little spat over the screen rights to a live action adaptation of Masters of The Universe. Apparently Mattel didn’t like WB’s creative direction. Maybe it had to do with the fact that the latest script treatment had Prince Adam as an astronaut that lands on Eternia where Skeletor is trying to destroy magic (don’t get me started). Personally, I think both companies couldn’t decide on whether to fuck this project in the ass or the face first. As a fan I won’t accept anything less than an Epic, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Action flick that is a mish mash of 300 and Batman Begins. Since He-man is just too weird and perhaps too gay, anyone, besides Peter Jackson or Guillermo Del Toro will royally fuck it up. Anyway, I digress. The actual news here (via variety again) is Sony/Columbia Pictures has swooped in like Gollum to the one ring (see what I did there, I made a Hobbit reference ala the fore mentioned directors) and have acquired the rights. There is perhaps a glimmer of hope here given they have tossed that garbage of a script and booted possible director John Stevenson (Kung Fu Panda) and basically want to start from scratch. However, I’m pretty confident that Sony is positioning themselves to rape my childhood……… but hey, I’ll try to keep an open mind.
