About this time of year when I was a kid, I could be found pouring over the dog-eared pages of the Sears Christmas Catalog. See, that’s how kids used to zero in on what Santa’s workshop might be cranking out. The magic of paging through the colorful pages of new and awe-inspiring toys almost eclipsed the actual getting that happened on Christmas morning. This era of dog-earing pages for Santa (yes dude, SANTA)…dovetailed amazingly with the magic of Star Wars, Saturday morning cartoons, rollerskating, Green Machines…and beyond.

I hereby present some of my faves from the corresponding 1979 Sears Christmas Catalog…

For those of you who did not come up the Sears Catalog Way, I hope this inspires you. For those of you that did, I know it has inspired you! Merry Christmas and I hope you get that Stretch Armstrong you’ve been freakin’ out over!
