So Microsoft had an event today that would surly make the 360 fan boys e-penis hard and I’m sure your all wondering why the hell would a dumb Sony gamer would write about a Microsoft event. Well, that’s because I’m excited as well since 2010 seems like another good year for video games and it seems that the only ones really crying will be our wallets. Here are highlights from the event:
The big news for Microsoft’s biggest franchise is that there will be a multi-player beta for the game starting on May 3rd. To be part of this, you must own a copy of Halo 3: ODST, and with that copy, you’ll be able to access the beta through X-Box LIVE.
After the character showing up in a Grand Theft Auto IV commercial as a joke and many delays, it seems that there is a solid release for the game, which is May 18th. With the announcement of course, was also the details of the limited edition of the game. It includes the following: a 144 page “The Alex Wake Files,” Avatar gear and LIVE theme, soundtrack disk, in-game commentary, behind-the-scenes videos, and a code for the first DLC pack. All this can be yours for $80.
Dead Rising 2Looks like Capcom’s awesome Zombie game sequel will be released August 31st, and a week before that release, 360 fans get a treat. That treat is Dead Rising 2: Case Zero, which is a prologue that players can play so that they are properly introduce to the new main character, Chuck Greene.
Final Fantasy XIIISorry to the Sony fans, only the 360 version of the game will be in a bundle according to Microsoft’s press and what you get is a heft 250GB Final Fantasy branded hard drive, 2 wireless controllers, headset, and stuff for your Miis, oops, I mean your Avatars. All this for the price of $399, which Microsoft believes this will bring PS2 users to their side with this bundle. Also, there will be limited edition FFXIII face plates designed by Tetsuya Nomura himself.
Crackdown 2Not much was revealed other then will be released later this year and that if you pre-order the game, you do get to download 4 Agency armor.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2We learn that 360 players will get the DLC packs first as it will available to them before any other platform, slated for a Spring release.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell ConvictionReleasing on April 13th, we learned that this game will also receive the bundle treatment that Final Fantasy XIII is getting but in black and minus the face plates.
Fable IIIPeter Molyneux said earlier this week that he will piss gamers off with Fable III and maybe he has. This time, the player takes their character and have them become a king, however, not only will you need your handy old controller but you will also need Natal (Microsoft’s motion sensor camera) to play the game as well. As time will always show when it comes to Fable, we’ll see how good/stupid the ideas will be.
Lost Planet 2Earlier we learn that another Capcom sequel that the X-Box fans will get a treat with their Lost Planet 2, which was Gears of Wars’ own Marcus and Dom being playable characters in the mutiplayer. Now we learn that pre-order the game at Gamestop, and you also get to play as Albert Wesker of Resident Evil fame as another multiplayer character. The will be release on May 18th.
Left 4 Dead 2The first DLC Campaign for the popular Zombie game has finally been announced and name as “The Passing” will feature the original survivors (not playable) helping out the new survivors to survive the new story set in Georgia. The DLC adds new arenas and another infected as well and is slated for a late March release. Probably the other exciting news is the L4D1 players will also get DLC campaign (only playable for L4D1) to explain how the first survivors made it to Georgia.
X-Box LIVE ArcadeAll releasing in March, X-Box LIVE users will be getting some treats. First with an action title named Toy Soldiers, which players play war with little toy soldiers. Game Room is up next, which is the space that let you play all the classic games in one area. You will have to re-buy classic games if you already have the regular Arcade version, but it’ll have it’s own set of leader boards and achievements to help you grow that e-penis. The third game, which is probably the best of the bunch, is the release of the classic Perfect Dark, which will bring back memories from the N64 days and now with LIVE multiplayer and achievements, the game will breathe life again. Last of the bunch is Scrap Metal, which is top down racer with guns.
Thats the list of awesome that was announced today. How do ya’ll feel, excited for this year or did some news upset. I know when I come home, I might be caught playing my brothers X-Box 360 or be a stubborn Sony fanboy.
