RENT

The Road

theroad

Based on Cormac McCarthy’s beloved, best-selling and Pulitzer Prize winning novel, Academy Award nominee Viggo Mortensen leads an all-star cast in the big screen adaptation of The Road, the epic post-apocalyptic tale of a journey taken by a father and his young son across a barren landscape that was blasted by an unnamed cataclysm that destroyed civilization and most life on earth.

Starring: Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron, Robert Duvall, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Guy Pearce.
Directed by: John Hillcoat (The Proposition)

From the same author that wrote No Country for Old Man, we get The Road. If ya have the time (say like two hours to waste) and are looking for a movie that has an emotional touch to the story, this should do it for ya. Fans of the book will more likely enjoy the film as it is close and good adaptation of it.  Also, you’ll be awarded with some scenes of the beautiful Charlize Theron to look at.

Available: Blu-Ray, DVD

Anime Pick of the Week

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Part 1

fmb

So what’s different between this and the other version of the show that aired  a few years back. Well, Brotherhood is suppose to follow the manga faithfully, which means once we get to the Greed saga, that is when the series will be a whole new show to fans that hasn’t read the manga. Hell, to tell ya the truth, it tries to be different from the start but it still does it in a way where most fans know who the characters are. Just another way to follow the adventures of the Alric brothers, which isn’t a bad thing.

Available: 2 Disk Blu-Ray Set, 2 Disk DVD Set
