The Harry Potter Park at Universal has just kicked off it’s opening with swarming masses going mental at not only the detail and wonderful wondrous wonders, but a quick glimpse of the supportive celebs there to see it in real life and not CG!
The actors that cameoed included Tom Felton, Michael Gambon, Bonnie Wright, Oliver Phelps, Daniel Radcliffe, Matthew Lewis, Warwick Davis, Rupert Grint and James Phelps. John Williams even showed up to give a special live performance of the Harry Potter music during a huge fireworks display!

On Dragon Challenge, guests may choose between the Hungarian Horntail and the Chinese Fireball dragons as they embark on one of two dueling roller coasters. The “dragons” twist, loop and narrowly miss each other in this epic adventure.
Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods also happens to be there to purchase movie related shwag and memorabilia.
Entering through the gates of Hogwarts, which are guarded by two winged boars, the breathtaking scope of the castle’s exterior indicates that guests are about to experience something truly magical. Inside the immense Hogwart’s castle are elaborate passageways and corridors. Hogwarts is also home to the thrilling, new, state-of-the-art attraction – Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey – that uses ground-breaking technology to bring the magic, characters and stories of Harry Potter to life in ways never before experienced.
Good god! They went above and beyond for this park. What the LOTR didn’t warrant anything but a Museum display? They couldn’t make a walkthrough Shire for us? I will admit, the effort that came with this theme park is quite remarkable and while I know little of the world of HP, I did see the films which aren’t as in depth as the novels.
