Green Zone

During the U.S.-led occupation of Baghdad in 2003, Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller and his team of Army inspectors were dispatched to find weapons of mass destruction believed to be stockpiled in the Iraqi desert. Rocketing from one booby-trapped and treacherous site to the next, the men search for deadly chemical agents but stumble instead upon an elaborate cover-up that inverts the purpose of their mission. Spun by operatives with intersecting agendas, Miller must hunt through covert and faulty intelligence hidden on foreign soil for answers that will either clear a rogue regime or escalate a war in an unstable region. And at this blistering time and in this combustible place, he will find the most elusive weapon of all is the truth.

Starring: Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear, Amy Ryan, Brendan Gleeson, Jason Isaacs, and Khalid Abdalla.
Directed by: Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum)

She’s Out of My League

Kirk, an average Joe, can’t believe his luck. Though he’s stuck in a seemingly dead-end job as an airport security agent, against all odds, Molly, a successful and outrageously gorgeous babe, falls for him. Kirk is stunned. So are his friends, his family and even his ex-girlfriend. Now he has to figure out how to make the relationship work, even though he’d be the first to admit she’s totally out of his league.

Starring: Jay Baruchel, Alice Eve, T.J. Miller, Nate Torrence, Krysten Ritter, Geoff Stults, and Lindsay Sloane.
Directed by: Jim Field Smith

You still have that beer and/or alcohol around? It might help make this movie better. While the film got mediocre reviews and is pretty much predictable, it still may be worth a rent if ya have the time. At least you’ll be rewarded by getting to look at Alice Eve and her lovely pair of distractions. Who knows, maybe the movie and the alcohol might give some ya the courage & stupidity to pick up hot ladies you would usually be afraid to get close to.

Available: Blu-Ray, DVD

Old Movies Are New Again: This is a list of old films being re-released as Blu-Ray that were worth mentioning.

The Bourne Trilogy
Death Race 2000

Blu-Ray 3D Release: While these movies are still playable in their 2D format on any Blu-ray player and HDTV, they have the ability to play in 3D if you have a 3D compatable Blu-ray player and HDTV.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

What a perfect way to show off your 3D goodness to your friends by making it look like meat is coming at them…yeah, meat. Anyway, this is pretty much a re-release of the regular Blu-Ray of the film but now with a 3D version of the film is included with the 2D version. Just remember, you do need both, a 3D capable HDTV and a 3D capable Blu-Ray player (which unfortunately, the PS3 has yet to receive the firmware update to play 3D movies) to view the 3D.

Available: Blu-Ray 3D

LOL Release of the Week: This is where we’ll inform you of a movie that is either a rip-off of a current popular franchise or just something really outrageous that had to be mentioned.

In this red hot action-adventure… Former football star turned convict, Tyler “The Fuse” Draven, discovers in jail that he has the ability to create fire by mere thought alone! Now he’s going to use his new- found power to wreak havoc and get revenge on everyone that’s ever done him wrong… which seems to be the entire world! His deadly skill and fiery temper has Draven bent on a mission of total destruction unless the authorities find a way to stop him!

I don’t know about you but this film sure sounds like a SyFy movie or a bad PS1 era video game. After doing some research, it apparently did air on Syfy quite some time ago and has received mixed reviews, a bit towards the good side. Just remember, alcohol will probably help make this film more entertaining but it may also give ya the idea to lit a basketball on fire so, be careful and don’t be an idiot.
