I’m sure most people were going crazy when the Avengers cast showed up during the Comic-Con panel, but a few may have noticed that a certain super hero was missing up there on stage. That hero would be Ant-Man and no, it’s not because he was small that we didn’t see him there. According to Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World), the director of the Ant-Man film, it’s more because his Ant-Man will be more of an origin film and because of that, he wouldn’t fit in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers.

Wright does mention that it’s still a possibility to see Ant-Man in an later Avengers movie but since Wright himself doesn’t know if he would indeed be working on Ant-Man next, it may be a while till we see the little hero on the same screen with the Avengers. What do you guys think? Does the news of Wright’s Ant-Man being more of an origin film excite you? Or were you upset that Ant-Man won’t be part of the upcoming Avengers film because of it. If anything, this still does give Nathan Fillion the chance to be Ant-Man and that, that would be a good thing.
