When we all heard that a Spider-Man reboot was being done we had a lot questions…What villains will be used? Will it be difficult to rehash and start from when Parker is in High School? But mainly, one question kept arising…WHY?! With the previous Spider-Man series just wrapping up a few years ago and having such big names attached to it, there seemed no point to try again so soon. Now, with the odd choice of Andrew Garfield as the new Peter Parker coupled without Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Basterds) to play the Lizard (rumored), the one person who could potentially make people go and see this movie no longer being attached to Marc Webb’s 3D reboot our minds are certainly not at ease about quality of the upcoming project. And now with our list of potentials for Spider-Mans love interests doesn’t seem like we are getting any more extremely good news about the reboot. According to Heat Vision, Webb and Andrew Garfield will begin meeting today and continue meeting throughout the weekend with the following six actresses, any one of whom could be—nope! Not Mary Jane Watson, who won’t be appearing in the Spidey reboot—but either Gwen Stacy or some other character.
The supposed six candidates are Lilly Collins (Priest), Ophelia Lovibond (London Boulevard), Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice), Imogen Poots (Fright Night), Emma Roberts (Scream 4) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World).
Oh, and here’s some even more reassuring news. David Fincher, who directed Andrew Garfield in The Social Network, admits that he “can’t imagine” the actor playing the webbed superhero.
