Muy Caliente, folks!  The actor who will be playing Riptide in X-Men:First Class has been announced by a Spanish Super-Hero site. The character will be played by Spanish actor Alex Gonzalez.  He will be spending four months in London honing his badass superpowers of spinning his body at high velocities and shooting spurs that can penetrate steel for the upcoming movie.  What is great about his look is that he can either play a good or bad guy.  That versatile look is perfect since is not yet determined what role Riptide will play in the film.  What do you guys think of Alex as a choice for the film??

Alex Gonzalez joins the already crammed cast. If you’ve lost track of who’s who, here is the official casting thus far:

  • James McAvoy is Charles Xavier aka Professor X
  • Nicholas Hoult has been cast as Dr. Henry Philip “Hank” McCoy aka Beast
  • Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds, Hunger) is playing Eric Lensherr aka Magneto
  • January Jones (Mad Men) to play Emma Frost aka White Queen.
  • Caleb Landry Jones (Friday Night Lights, The Longshots, The Last Exorcism) is Sean Cassidy aka Banshee.
  • 19-year-old actor Lucas Till (Walk the Line, Dance of the Dead, Hannah Montana: The Movie, The Spy Next Door, and the upcoming Battle: Los Angeles) is Alexander “Alex” Summers aka Havok, the younger brother of the X-Men’s Cyclops.
  • Kevin Bacon (Mystic River, Apolo 13, Sleepers) will play the villain Sebastian Shaw. Founding and leading member of the Hellfire club.
  • Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone) will play Mystique. Shape-shifting mutant.
  • Twilight vampire Edi Gathegi will be playing the mutant named Darwin, who has “limitless mutation abilities being in a state of continual reaction, adapting to whatever his current situation demands.”
  • Jason Flemyng (Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) will play Nightcrawlers father Azazel.
  • Oliver Platt (Lake Placid) to play some mysterious man in black, a non-mutant.
  • Rose Byrne to play Moira Taggert. Xavier love interest and early contributor to the formation of Xavier’s School for the Gifted.
