Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

Castlevania – Lords of Shadow is a dark and vivid new re-imagining of the Castlevania mythology. It is the end of days and ungodly powers isolate the Earth. The worlds’ alliance with the heavens has been threatened by a dark and malevolent force – the mysterious Lords of Shadow. Across this shattered land, the souls of the dead wander unable to find peace, whilst creatures of evil wreak chaos and death upon the living. Gabriel Belmont is a member of the Brotherhood of Light, an elite group of holy knights who protect and defend the innocent against the supernatural. His beloved wife was brutally murdered by the evil forces of darkness and her soul trapped for eternity. Neither living nor dead she realizes the horrific truth of what is at stake and guides Gabriel to his destiny – and hopefully salvation for the world.

You like action adventure games like God of War? You like watching cut scenes like Metal Gear Solid 4? Then you’ll enjoy this game as Kojima Production watched the development of the “re-imaging” of the Castlevania franchise. The demo is available on both console (the PS3 demo will be available upon its Tuesday night update) to give you a taste of the game. Plus, the game has a character voiced by Patrick Stewart, which would probably help some of the longer cut scenes go by faster for y’all. The limited edition includes the game, soundtrack, art book, and special packaging.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

Enslaved is a post-apocalyptic retelling of the classic 400-year old novel ‘Journey to the West’. Set 150 years from now, the world has been ruined by war and ecological disaster with only a handful of survivors remaining. In Enslaved, players take on the role of Monkey, a strong and athletic, yet solitary figure, who been captured by one of the mysterious slave ships, which harvest the remaining population and take them out west never to return. Trip, a technologically savvy young woman who has also been imprisoned by the same ship, manages to escape. She quickly realizes that Monkey, with his raw strength and power, is her only hope to survive the perilous journey back to her home. She hacks into a slave headband and fits it on Monkey, linking them together – if she dies, he dies… Her journey has now become his and Monkey must now travel west alongside Trip as they traverse a demolished world, under constant threat of capture and mortal peril.

If there is one thing I can say about the game is that this game is beautiful. The graphics are great the and the scenery is awesome. It’s just as if I was playing a game based on the Life After Humans show. The story is loosely based on the Journey to the West story and Ninja Theory (developing on the upcoming DmC) has obviously gotten better ever since they worked on Heavenly Sword. There is a demo available for the game which gives y’all a great idea on how the game looks and a taste of the combat system.

NBA JAM for Wii is an unique multiplayer arcade style basketball game that mixes the over-the-top fun of the original old school coin operated two-on-two game, and later console versions, with slick modern NBA characters and stylings. Designed with the Wii in mind, along with a distinct visual style incorporating specific player likeness’, this version of the game contains a variety of game modes not found in other console versions, as well as a variety of controller support options, unlockables and representation from every team in the league.

So back in the day, I created and drew my first superhero, Boom-Shaka-Laka Boy and he was a kid with a flaming basketball for a head. Anyway, EA decided to revive the classic arcade game, NBA JAM for todays generation of console. While it may be a Wii exclusive at the moment, it seems the PS3/360 will have a version of their own before the holiday season due to NBA Elite 11 being canceled. If you want to re-live with some good old time, then start heating up with game and start yelling boom-shaka-laka into your friends ears.

Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light

With FINAL FANTASY: THE 4 HEROES OF LIGHT, the FINAL FANTASY series is rendered anew as an epic storybook adventure by the creators of the FINAL FANTASY III and FINAL FANTASY IV Nintendo DS remakes. Players will enter a beautiful fairy-tale world featuring illustrations and character designs by acclaimed character designer Akihiko Yoshida. Developed exclusively for Nintendo DS, this role-playing game is the first original FINAL FANTASY title for the platform. In the small kingdom of Horne, Brandt awakes on the morning of his 14th birthday. Today is the day he becomes an adult, and the custom of the realm says that he must go to the castle to present himself to the king. Yet when he arrives at the castle, he finds the king distraught and the youngest princess missing, abducted by the Witch of the North. With no one else to turn to, the king makes a shocking request: will Brandt save the princess? And thus Brandt’s adventure begins…

What’s this? Another Final Fantasy game in the year 2010? The awesome folks that brought us the great DS remakes of FFIII and FFIV got a chance to create an all new Final Fantasy game and word is, it doesn’t disappoint. If your looking for a game that will help kill time on the game that has some cute looking graphics, then give this Final Fantasy side story a chance.
