How do you say “so freaking cool” in Spanish? Apparently it’s “Avenida de Super Mario Bros.”
Residents in a neighborhood in Zaragoza, Spain, voted online to name the streets of their future residential project after video games. Residents say “Super Mario Bros. Avenue” will be the first such street in the world, and CNN reports that streets named after Sonic the Hedgehog, The Legend of Zelda and Space Invaders are in the works.
Nintendo representatives were on hand for the unveiling of the street name. This year marks Super Mario’s 25th anniversary.
The upcoming residential project, Arcosur, will consist of residences for people ages 20 to 35 who want to own their first home. The president of Arcosur’s future neighborhood association claims that streets named after video games reflect the age and interests of the tenants.
Sounds like this neighborhood could use some Mario Kart bike lanes, no?
