So, it looks like gears are in motion to make an Aquaman movie. Yep, the questionably gay DC super hero, who can talk to fishies might, depending on the success of the ‘The Green Lantern’ get his own film. Talks to fish? Oi! Fucking jellyfish don’t even have brains, what kind of conversations could he possibly be having? Fail.
The actor who plays Aquaman in Smallville, Alan Ritchson, recently did an interview with CBM in which he says that a Aquaman movie is in the works. Here is what he had to say,
On The Chances Of Playing Aquaman Again On The Small Screen Outside Of Smallville:
Oh yeah, I would like that for sure. But I don’t think a TV show is a reality, to be honest. Not that I wouldn’t like to see that story told. Like I said earlier, Aquaman’s basically the Superman of the Seas and there’s a really cool story behind that. I think it would be fun to tell it, but it’s just so hard to tell a story involving water. And it’s expensive. In today’s day and age, people aren’t looking to spend a lot of money on a TV show. Maybe someday they’ll find a way, technically, to do it in a fiscally sound manner.
On The Possibility Of A Movie Adaptation And Whether He’d Be In It:
But a movie, on the other hand, I think is very much a reality. In fact, I think there’s one in the works. Some people in LA are starting to get the ball rolling on that. I don’t know what my involvement would ever be in that, but, yeah, I think it would be cool to see that happen. But it’s just so expensive to do. It’s hard to say if it’s really going to happen.
On The Future Of The Character In Smallville And A Return Of The Justic League:
I had a great time working with Elena, I had a great time on the show in general and I like the direction that it’s going. It’s moving forward and growing up and you’re seeing all these great storylines from the past, starting to tie up all these loose ends. It’s fun to watch and it’s fun to be part of. I would personally like to see the Justice League assemble, so I’d like to be a part of that too. But officially, I haven’t received anything on paper yet, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see
There’s always been a possibility of an Aquaman movie, but I honestly never thought it would happen because I don’t know if people would actually be able to take anAquaman movie seriously.
Personally I think Aquaman needs to die! His powers are a regrettable mix of silly, useless, and restrained to an environment in which no man lives–except for Aquaman. The only thing his powers may be good for is getting chicks, because we all know how women adore dolphins, with their fervent chattering and permanent smiles.Don’t even get me started on that costume. Green and Orange. Yeah. Oh, and what’s up with the name Aquaman anyway? Aquaman. It’s just gay. There are so many better names an underwater superhero could have, like “The Shark” or “Sea Urchin”. Even “The Swimmer” or the “Fish Whisperer” would be better. Aquaman makes it sound like he should be made of water or something.
There is just NO WAY that Aquaman can be a cool, kickass superhero. Let alone a stand alone movie. It’s not even an option.
What do you all think about the possibility of seeing an Aquaman film on the big screen?
