Every once and a while we hear about the golden nuggets of information about what a film will contain, or as the “smart kids” call it a “plot synopsis”. Well the day has finally come for the official plot synopsis for the 60’s superhero movie X-men: First Class, directed by Matthew Vaughn. The Marvel epic from 20th Century Fox has released the first details of it’s newest film, bringing with it brand new detail of what our mutant heros will experience.
“X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.”
Can the description be any more vague? Yes we already knew that it was about Professor X and Magneto when they were friends. And the Armageddon line applies to all the X-Men movies. Regardless, I’m looking forward to this more than any of the other X-Men films. I don’t feel like any of the movies so far have really captured the feel of the comics. This one seems to be the most promising, even with all the issue with comic continuity.ht
X-men: First Class stars James McAvoy (Wanted), Michael Fassbender (Jonah Hex), Rose Byrne (Get Him To The Greek), January Jones (Mad Men), and Kevin Bacon (Super) and many others. It’s set to be released June 3, 2011.
Special thanks to Screenrant for the heads up on all the mutant mayhem.
