After a few weeks of teasing us with some awesome movie posters, Kevin Smith (you should know what he’s known for) has finally released a teaser trailer for his upcoming horror film, Red State.
The film stars Michael Parks, John Goodman, Mellisa Root, and a bunch of other fine actors. Here is a brief plot synopsis:
“Red State begins by following three horny high school boys who come across an online ad from an older woman looking for a gang bang. Boys being boys, they hit the road to satisfy their libidinal urges. But what begins as a fantasy takes a dark turn as they come face-to-face with a terrifying “holy” force with a fatal agenda.”
Being someone who has watched countless of horror films for almost two decades now (parents thought it was okay for a four year old to watch horror movie as long as I cover my eyes on some of the gory stuff and pointless nudity), I’m excited for it as it hits the creepy note really well. I’m so used to Kevin’s usual run-of-the-mill dick and fart films, mixed in with some false sense of emotion and personal growth that this type of movie from him is very curious.
Check the trailer out now and to see if you’ll be equally excited for this flick as I am. If you want to learn more about the film (and making movies), then check out the Red State of the Union podcast.
