Hawkeye in Thor and more Avengers news!

Some news you just have to take with a grain of salt, as much as you wish it could be an official confirmation.

Take the two pieces of information that hit the Internet today:

The first nugget comes to us from The Wrap, which states that the character known as Hawkeye (played by Jeremy Renner from The Hurt Locker) will be appearing in Marvel‘s forthcoming Thor movie. They state that someone who has seen an early cut of the movie confirms that Renner is indeed in the movie, but no specifics were given as to when or how he appears.

As a huge Hawkeye fan, I hope he does appear. But seeing as it is from an anonymous source who refused to give any more information to show if its true … I’m still hesitant to believe it.

The second piece of news is, if you can believe in, even more vague.

The site GeekTyrant says this:

The cast already boasts an awesome cast that includes Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk),Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), and Chris Hemsworth (Thor). It has been reported by THR that there will be a new female cast member added to the male centered cast. So which female superhero will Marvel add?

Many people are speculating that it will be The Wasp, who was one of the founding members and often a leader of the Avengers. The Wasp is pretty bad ass, she can fly, shrink, and fire energy blasts at the bad guys. We do know for sure that both Demi Lovato and Eva Longoria will not be starring in the film.

And folks, that is it.

The rumor is that another female cast member may be added … of course another female has to be in it! The only female confirmed to be in it is Scarlett Johansson (playing the Black Widow). I think another big female character is definitely in the cards, and I’d be willing to bet it’s The Wasp.

But, we’ll just have to wait and see! Stay tuned.
