Back to the Future: The Ride holds a special place in my heart.
When I was a kid, my family and I went to Floria to hit the theme parks: Disneyland, Epcot, and Universal Studios. We did everything we could possibly do, which included my happiest moment ever – seeing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live in concert (even got all their autographs).
But, one moment we shared as a family was getting to be part of the “test group” of the newely installed Back to the Future ride. Yes folks, my family and I were one of the FIRST people to ever step foot into those DeLorean’s and be greeted by Christopher Lloyd (as Doc Brown) telling us of the adventure we were about to partake in.
When I learned that it was finally being shut down in 2007 to make way for The Simpsons Ride, I was saddened. That ride was a fundamental part of my childhood, and children would never experience it again.
Luckily, the Internet has saved the day.
The entire ride (sadly, without the physical effects of a moving chair) are now available on YouTube for generations to enjoy!
