Seattle, Washington’s own Phoenix Jones may be equipped to handle more than the average citizen in a tense situation, but that doesn’t mean he’s Superman. While he does wear body armor and a mask he’s still a human, meaning he can get hurt just like the rest of us and that’s exactually what happened over the weekend. If your trying to emulate Batman and your other childhood heros it means know what you can and can’t do. Getting a broken nose is the first sign that maybe you should leave the crime fighting to the one’s that wear badges and carry firearms.
How did this modern day hero get fair against his local criminal surroundings?
Jones told KOMO the altercation that injured him happened Saturday night near Fifth Avenue and James Street. Jones, who said he was breaking up a fight, called 911 and put one of the men in a headlock and waited for police, KOMO reported.
Another man pulled out a gun seconds later and when the superhero let go of the man he was holding, that man kicked him in the face and broke his nose, Jones told KOMO
Getting your nose busted may have been only a slight injury for this Guardian of Seattle, but it could have been worse. Sure, admitting that calling for 911 “was waving the white flag” he still knew between going it alone and calling the proper authorities. He’s no Man Of Steel and Bruce Wayne he’s not but I’ve gotta give him props to standing up to street level thugs. He’s doing this because he doesn’t want the criminals running the streets at night, turning his city into what we read about between pages of ink and paper. “These people should not be called superheroes.” one detective said and he’s right they are not superheros, they are real heros.
Kick-ass maybe a comic book character but Phoenix Jones is real and you’ve got to respect that.
