Welcome bastards to another installment of NerdBastards’ weekly DVD Tuesday feature. We list what came out today and recommend if it’s either a BUY, RENT, or PASS. We got a few releases for you to check out as we got one movie that may be pushing a certain fear to an extreme, a straight-to-DVD flick that may be mindless fun, and a film that has Hayden Christensen.

Paul Conroy is not ready to die. Want a film that will push the claustrophobia envelop? Well, this film will do it for you for an hour and a half. While the film may not be for everyone, especially for those folks who have a sense of fear, we do get a thriller that Hitchcock would be proud of. As far as extras goes, it only comes with a making of feature thus making this an easy RENT.

Death Race 2

While Paul W.S. Anderson may have only written the script for this prequel (don’t you love the movies with 2 on them not being real sequels), it seems it the straight-to-DVD release capture the feel of an Anderson film. If you enjoyed the original and the remake, then the film will provide you some entertainment. And hey, it’s got Danny Trejo and Ving Rhames, which you know the two will provide you some fun for the hour and a half length.
This high-stakes action thriller stars Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, Idris Elba, Jay Hernandez, Michael Ealy and Tip “T.I.” Harris. So hey, here’s a movie that may have someone a young girl would love but when it comes down to it, the film doesn’t do anything new for it’s genre. Sure, this may be something to check out if you have time to kill but there sure is more better way to waste it then watching this. Not even the extras that comes with the home release makes this special, thus making this a easy PASS.

Seems like FX hit the jackpot once again by having Timothy Olyphant as a kick-ass deputy marshal. With appearances from former Deadwood cast, a solid storyline, and a great set of extras, this is one DVD set worth picking up.

The BBC show has been airing on Syfy and is not that bad at all. The 13 episode set comes packing with the usual set of extras that makes this a solid purchase for fans.

For some folks, this is your X-Files and after almost being released 4 years ago, only for it to be canceled due to “music licensing issues,” fans finally get their hands on the complete series of this show. Not only do you get all 18 episodes, it comes packing with a nice set of extras that should (hopefully) make up for all the waiting you fans had to endure.

Yes folks, the motion-comic TV show is finally available in DVD form. The show was only broadcast in Australia and appeared as a DTO in the U.S. It’s got a solid cast for voice actors and a nice set of extras. For the low price that’s listed on Amazon, it’s not a bad package to pick up since who knows when BET will actually air this.
