We all believe that the world is going to end in some way or another, from alien invasions to apocalyptic conditions. It’s just the people who believe this crap are out of their minds and who better than the father of Star Wars George Lucas. The man who created a multi-million dollar empire off the backs of Wookies believes that 2012 is the end of the world. If that’s tue then maybe his whipping boy Steven Spielberg believes that people actually liked Indy 4.

How does George believe the world will end?

In an article from the Toronto Sun, Green Hornet star Seth Rogen spoke about his meeting with Lucas and Spielberg, a meeting that became a 25 minute lecture on on the end of the world.

An excerpt:

“George Lucas sits down and seriously proceeds to talk for around 25 minutes about how he thinks the world is gonna end in the year 2012, like, for real. He thinks it. He’s going on about the tectonic plates and all the time Spielberg is, like, rolling his eyes, like, ’My nerdy friend won’t shut up, I’m sorry… I first thought he (Lucas) was joking… and then I totally realized he was serious and then I started thinking, ’If you’re George Lucas and you actually think the world is gonna end in a year, there’s no way you haven’t built a spaceship for yourself… So I asked him… ’Can I have a seat on it?’ He claimed he didn’t have a spaceship, but there’s no doubt there’s a Millennium Falcon in a garage somewhere with a pilot just waiting to go… It’s gonna be him and Steven Spielberg and I’ll be blown up like the rest of us.”
Now, this could be funnier than Spiderman’s mechanical web shooters, but we can’t take this lightly. If Lucas starts spending the Skywalker fortune on building a round, moon-shaped spaceship we are so screwed.
