Nintendo 3DS – US Release Date & Price!

3dshw11908

So last Monday, Nintendo held an event about their upcoming glasses-less 3D handheld gaming device and it was pretty much about the Japanese release date and the crappy battery life. Well, earlier today, Nintendo of America held their press event regarding the US release of the 3DS.

The 3DS will be available on March 27th with the hefty price of $249.99. Yes folks, it’s the same price that the Nintendo Wii and the Sony PSP was when they first came out. What comes with the $249.99 price tag you ask? Well, you have a choice between a black or blue model. It includes software such as an activity tracker that tracks your… activity, a built-in pedometer, a Mii Maker that uses the face camera to help create them, and Face Raider,  a shooter/mashmup that involves using your face.

Other features will become available via software updates. The Virtual Console for the 3DS will feature GameBoy and GameBoy Color game (BOO! Where’s the GBA games, dammit!). Nintendo has quite the list of game that will come out from the handheld’s launch date till June, around E3 (list available after the jump) as Nintendo is making sure that you have games to play when the 3DS comes out.

That’s pretty much it about the 3DS. Is the $250 price tag the right price for you to go out and pick up the Nintendo’s new gaming device at launch or is it too much? Is there any game on that is coming out that interest you? Tell us what you think about the Nintendo 3DS.
