So who would’ve thought a movie that was once set to star Wesley Snipes would be in the works again in 2011??  Apparently, the people at Marvel did as they are in the process bringing to the big screen the Black Panther, a comic book character made popular back in 66′ when the character first appeared on the pages of a Fantastic Four comic.

Set to write the project is an up and coming writer Mark Bailey who is mainly known for his work on HBO documentaries such as Pandemic: Facing AIDS and Ghost of Abu Ghraib as well as a feature film being adapted from a non-fiction book called The Last of the Tribe: The Epic Quest to Save a Lone Man in the Amazon.  Producing the project will be Kevin Feige of Marvel.

Bailey’s background seems like a perfect fit to write a movie about “the king of a resource-rich fictional African country who becomes a super hero.” Of all the chraacters to be brought to life, the Black Panther should be an easy transition from documentary to superhero for Bailey and allow his realism to shine.  What do you guys think??
