Stuff You Want, Things You Need & Everything You Can’t Have!- By Guest Writer Eric Kwun of igeektrooper.com
Happy Saturday, ya bastards! The name is Eric and I know collectibles. You may know me from Twitter going by the name of @geektrooper and at by my blog, igeektrooper.com. I spent a good part of my life hunting down and collecting goodies from all over the world. Everything and anything related to comics, movies, and geek culture and worth collecting has found its way to my desk. The need to have the newest and most unique collectibles is a sickness and I’m happy to say that I’m one sick “bastard”. The world is full of awesome stuff and I am here to show you some of the best out there! So, let me have the honor of presenting Nerdbastards’ newest weekly feature, “Stuff You Want, Thing You Need, and Everything You Can’t Have”!
Item: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark: Indiana Jones Movie
Masterpiece DX05 1:6 collectible action figure by Hot Toys
Holy shit, this figure is awesome! Hong Kong based, figure designer/manufacturer, Hot Toys, is well known for their incredible action figures from movies such as ‘Iron Man’ and ‘The Dark Knight’. Well, Hot Toys (who is collaborating with Sideshow Collectibles) signed a huge licensing agreement with LucasArts to make 1:6 scale articulate action figures for Indiana Jones. I can honestly say that every Indy figure that came out in the past looks like shit. Other than the signature clothing, the facial sculpt was less than spectacular and it makes me cringe. This bad ass version of our favorite professor of archeology comes with an array of accessories such as his signature whip, brown fedora, and even a golden Fertility Idol statue! It even comes with Hot Toys’ “Parallel Eyeball Rolling System” which allows Indy’s eyes to adjust pending on his pose. I have collected about 80% of all of Hot Toys’ releases and this figure makes me giddy like a little school girl. It’s THAT freakin’ awesome. Indy will release in the summer and goes for about $250. Like most Hot Toys figures, this
figure will go up in value.

Item: Star Wars: Frames
This item makes me smile and cry at the same time. “Star Wars: Frames” is a six volume hardcover set that features over 1,400 frames from the ‘Star Wars’ films: The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. Each frame featured in the collection is handpicked by George Lucas himself from over one million possible frames in the films. The books sit neatly in a large woken box which features two medallions of Jedi Master Yoda and Sith Lord Darth Vader, one on each side. The collection also comes with a bookplate signed by George Lucas. The collection is limited to only 1,138 units (in tribute to Lucas’ ‘THX 1138’). What’s the asking price, you ask? How about, THREE THOUSAND FREAKIN’ DOLLARS! I guess this is the “everything you can’t have” part. The collection will be available next month.

Item: Marvel Bishoujo Collection: Fantastic Four’s Invisible Woman (Sue Storm)
PVC Statue by Kotobukiya
Oh hell yes! Kotobukiya has been doing a fine job of turning Japanese illustrator, Shunya Yamashita’s amazing artwork into PVC statues. The newest addition to Koto’s “Marvel Bishoujo” line will be none other than Sue Storm AKA Invisible Woman of the ‘Fantastic Four’ (well, I guess it’s the Fantastic Three now…). Easily one of the sexiest Sue Storm statues ever made, this statue features a themed base and a cool translucent effect where
it looks like she is turning invisible (cause that’s her power… Just in case you didn’t know…). Expect Sue to be available in the summer for around $60!

Item: “Clean of Kong” Donkey Kong Barrel Soap by GEEKSOAP
I’m about to go ape-shit if I don’t get my hands on one of these bad ass soaps from GEEKSOAP. These 7oz. bars of soap are fashioned to look like the iconic barrels from the classic video game, ‘Donkey Kong’. What’s even better is that the soap smells like bananas with a hint of coconut. Too bad it doesn’t smell like Mario’s blood. That would make more sense, but probably isn’t that attractive. GEEKSOAP founder and geek gal, Lesley Karpiuk is well known for her geeky one-of-a-kind handmade soaps and continues to release awesome
soaps that makes you wish you were dirty. You can get one for around $6!

Item: Dead Space: Timson Tools 211-V Plasma Cutter Full Scale Replica by Epic
All I can say is… wow. Sitting at 11 inches tall and 17 inches long, this plasma cutter is a full size highly-detailed replica of Isaac Clarke’s weapon of choice in the popular videogame, ‘Dead Space’. Isaac’s plasma cutter comes in a nifty display suitcase and features a 3.7 volt rechargeable battery that powers a three-blast LED spotlight that is activated by the trigger. It will come in handy when battling it out with “necromorphs” or when you want to scare the neighbor’s cat away from crapping on your yard. The best part of this replica definitely has to be the paint. The weathered effect applied by Epic Weapons is top-notch. The plasma cutter will be available in March for a little over $200..

Item: Metroid Prime Hunters: Samus Aran’s Gunship Limited Edition Statue by
Everyone loves Metroid. So it isn’t a surprise to find out that UK-based, First4Figures has created a follow-up to their Metroid gunship replica line. Limited to 720 units worldwide, this statue features awesome internal LEDs that light up the windscreen, gun batteries, hull, and engine. The base arm features a swivel which allows you to tilt the ship to look like it’s in inter-galactic flight. Each statue is hand numbered and comes with a certificate
of authenticity. If this statue is anything like F4F’s first Metroid gunship, these will not be available too long and will be sold out everywhere. Due out in July and because of the low production run, the price is at a hefty, $280 each. Yikes! I kind of want to mount this gunship to the hood of my car so I would feel like Samus is flying in front of me from the
Item: Doctor Who Custom Cutout Magnets by “mikeintosh”
I’m a sucker for cute shit. Especially when it’s something I really like such as ‘Doctor Who’. Etsy member, “mikeintosh” has these adorable cutout magnets based on his rendition of various Doctor Who heroes and baddies. “mikeintosh” put his “super-deformed” spin on characters such as the Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond, Dalek, Cyberman, and even the infamous TARDIS. My favorite has to be the Weeping Angel. They are available now for about $15.
