Mark Ruffalo has got to be just the coolest dude around!  He has a gorgeous wife (Sunrise) and gets to do awesome things like play Bruce Banner/ The Hulk in Joss Whedon’s upcoming Avengers flick.  Ruffalo briefly revealed that he is excited about the upcoming film saying “It’s gonna be awesome!” (well duh Mark)!  But again, Ruffalo confirmed that he will be the only person other than Mr. Lou Ferrigno to actually play the character.  In order to do so they will be using a technique called ‘motion capture’ which as most of you know is:

the process of recording movement and translating that movement on to a digital model. It is used in military, entertainment, sports, and medical applications, and for validation of computer vision and robotics. In filmmaking it refers to recording actions of human actors, and using that information to animate digital character models in 2D or 3D computer animation. When it includes face and fingers or captures subtle expressions, it is often referred to as performance capture.

This clears up all the dirty rumors that The Hulk himself might get played by another actor. Mark Ruffalo as both Banner and The Hulk? Personally, I think this is gonna be great! Ruffalo’s soft-spoken style seems like an ideal fit for the mild-mannered Bruce Banner. “Hulking out” might be a hard to deliver for this calm yet suave actor, but I’m sure Ruffalo will SMASH.
