DVD Tuesday Lite 3/1/11

Welcome bastards to another installment of NerdBastards’ weekly DVD Tuesday feature. We list what came out today and recommend if it’s either a BUY, RENT, or PASS.

We got another Lite edition as most of the major movie releases were either Oscar movies that most NB won’t care or other films that won’t be of interest but we do have one release that may be worth checking out. We got the return of the Old is New that covers two releases and one TV Show DVD that is definitely worth checking out.

So what are you waiting for? Check what came out after the jump and see if there is something you want!

After 10 years in prison, Driver has a singular focus – to avenge the murder of his brother during the botched bank robbery that led to his imprisonment. Now a free man with a deadly to-do list in hand, he’s finally on his mission…but with two men on his trail – a veteran cop just days from retirement, and a young egocentric hitman with a flare for the art of killing and a newfound worthy opponent. The hunter is also the hunted. It’s a do or die race to the list’s finish as the mystery surrounding his brother’s murder deepens, and new details emerge along the way hinting that Driver’s list may be incomplete.

Starring: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton, Maggie Grace
Directed by Geroge Tillman Jr (Notorious, Men of Honor)

So if you didn’t know, I’m a wrestling fan and I’m not afraid to admit that I have a man crush for The Rock and we all have seen him in some good movies as well as some terrible ones. It seems that The Rock is trying to get back into the action movies and while the story is nothing new, this flick is not that bad. Seeing how there were no notable extras mentioned and the film being about an hour and a half, Faster is an easy RENT if you’re looking for something decent to kill time with.

Available: Blu-Ray, DVD

Old is New Again:

Like any Blu-Ray Disney release, its a combo pack unless you want to wait a year or so for the single pack but seeing how this is the classic Bambi, it’s definitely worth the purchase to add to your collection. This week we also see The Cable Guy being released on Blu-Ray for the first time, don’t know why it took them this long to release this awesome movie but it’s definitely worth picking up.

Bambi Blu-Ray/DVD Combo
The Cable Guy 15th Anniversary Edition

TV Show DVD:

ReBoot: Seasons 1 & 2

Welcome to Mainframe. Home to Guardian Bob, formatted to mend and defend. Join the fast-paced action and adventure as Bob and his friends Dot, her brother Enzo and his trusty dog Frisket fend off attacks from the superviruses known as Megabyte and Hexadecimal in their relentless pursuit of chaos and the destruction of Mainframe.

Known as the very first completely computer-animated half-hour TV series, ReBoot debuted in the United States on ABC’s Saturday-morning block in 1994 and has captured the hearts and imaginations of kids and gamers ever since!

To quote The Rock… finally… and I mean finally, ReBoot season 1 and 2 is on DVD. I shouldn’t need to tell you why you should buy this awesome show but I do know that many people will definitely be picking this release up. Also, y’all know the drill, by purchasing this boxset, this may convince the publishers to release season 3 in a box set (good luck buying the individual release of S3 as they are expensive as hell now).

Available: 4 Disk DVD Set

*NerdBastards’ DVD Tuesday feature only list certain releases that may have some interest for our audience and thus why it doesn’t list all releases as we are sure that you wouldn’t care for those.*
