Right out of the gate, before we even get into the news part of this, let’s get one thing straight. Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen was not a good movie.
It had its good parts (like Jetfire, but they were few and far between). Watch the movie again, I dare you. The cons far outweigh any pro’s in that movie.
It takes guts to admit that a movie was not as good as the fans expected it to be. And, finally, director Michael Bay seems to be admitting that, even calling it borderline crap. It still made a lot of money, but doesn’t mean that it was a good movie.
We made some mistakes … The real fault with [Transformers 2] is that it ran into a mystical world. When I look back at it, that was crap.
It was just terrible to do a movie where you’ve got to have a story in three weeks [due to the writer’s strike] … I was prepping a movie for months where I only had 14 pages of some idea of whatthe movie was. It’s a BS way to make a movie!
Soooo… It’s still everyone else’s fault but his own. Regardless, better late than never, right?
Hopefully, Bay learned some lessons from Revenge of the Fallen, and will have applied them to the third Transformers film coming out soon entitled Dark of the Moon. It is set to be released on
