No, this isn’t the much anticipated Felicia Day Dragon Age: Redemption web series but it’s still looks damn good. This is a live-action trailer for an upcoming fan-made short titled, Dragon Age: Malevolence. And guess what? They made this film with a budget of zero, nada, nuthin’! But believe me, you wouldn’t know it watching this teaser.
The director, Leo Kei Angelos says of the video,
I love Dragon Age so much, I wanted to join in on the fun of Felicia Day’s live action webseries, to show my love for Bioware and the universe they created. So… I made my own Dragon Age fan film on just about zero dollars budget. This is an original story I wrote that would fit in with the themes of the Dragon Age world.
To do something epic like Dragon Age justice without a lot of money is challenging, to say the least… But the whole cast & crew utilized all our resources really well and worked our butts off to try and make it happen. I expect to finish working on the short film and release it in a few months.
To clarify, I’m not trying to compete with Felicia Day or infringe upon Bioware material in any way. I’m just a really, really passionate fan of the game and wanted to show my support of the franchise.
It’s true nerd devotion. The best part is this teaser trailer looks fantastic! What they lack in budget they sure make up for in fake blood. Seriously, this thing looks really bloody. Which is awesome! I only hope the acting holds up to the production quality. It might look great now but if you’re actors are crap, well, you’ll look like this lame Ghostbuster’s fan video. The 15 minute short film will be released in a few months, possible around the same time as Day’s web series. The webz will be a-bursting with Dragon Age goodness. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think, were you as impressed as I?
