Just like the series, the films are doing great story wise and the animation is just fantastic. RENT:

Black Swan

BlackSwan

A psychological thriller set in the world of New York City ballet BLACK SWAN stars Natalie Portman as Nina a featured dancer who finds herself locked in a web of competitive intrigue with a new rival at the company (Mila Kunis). A Fox Searchlight Pictures release by visionary director Darren Aronofsky (THE WRESTLER) BLACK SWAN takes a thrilling and at times terrifying journey through the psyche of a young ballerina whose starring role as the Swan Queen turns out to be a part for which she becomes frighteningly perfect.

Starring: Mila Kunis, Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel,Winona Ryder
Directed by Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, The Fountain)

Aronofsky has created another hit with Black Swan that features one of our favorites, Natalie Portman. The two reason why this film gets the RENT label is that one, the film is one of those love it or hate it flicks. The second is that other than a couple of behind the scenes features, the extras are lacking, thus why it makes this film an easy rent.

Available: Blu-Ray, DVD

The Resident

TheResident

Juliet (Academy Award-winner Hilary Swank, Million Dollar Baby), a beautiful doctor, has found the perfect New York apartment to start a new life after separating from her husband. It’s got spacious rooms, a spectacular view, and a handy, handsome landlord. But there are secrets behind every wall and terror in every room as Juliet gets the unnerving feeling that she is not alone. She is being watched. She is being stalked. And no one is safe when she discovers the relentless horror on her doorstep. But how do you stop an evil that you can’t see…until it’s too late? Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Grey’s Anatomy) and screen legend Christopher Lee (The Lord of the Rings) costar in this pulse-pounding shocker from famed horror studio Hammer Films (Let Me In).

Starring: Hilary Swank, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Christopher Lee, Lee Pace
Directed by Antti Jokinen

What’s this? A direct to BR/DVD horror film that features Swank, Morgan, and Lee? Why yes it is. While the film did have a theatrical release across the pond, we get it straight to release and probably for a reason as the film doesn’t do anything new in the horror genre. However, with the acting from the cast, it makes this title something to check out if your looking for something to help kill the time.

Available: Blu-Ray, DVD

Old is New: This is a list of old titles of note that are being released on Blu-Ray for the first time.

This week, we see the release of the awesome classic, Teen Wolf. Sure, it may not have any extra features of note but with it’s low price that Amazon is asking for, it’s definitely worth picking up to add to anyone’s collection. Also, what was only available as a collection from last year, the Scream titles receive their own individual release.

Teen Wolf
Scream
Scream 2
Scream 3
