Completely forgetting about Twilight for a moment (Rwwwr), the Vampire movie genre hasn’t really done too well in theaters since Underworld was released, with Daybreakers sadly being a joke of a movie. Thankfully some new blood might be getting pumped into the Vampire genre thanks to the upcoming Priest starring Paul Bettany. When humanities last hope against vampires comes in the form of priests that kick more ass then John Woo, it’s gotta be big.
Adapted from a Korean comic of the same name, what a better way to introduce viewers to the film, then an animated prologue. Not only that, but a prologue animated by Cartoon Network veteran Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, Star Wars: The Clone Wars), it’s like an explosion of blood and epicness. Just ignore the Facebook ad at the top and bottom, you’ll be just fine.
Forgive me father for kicking ass
Priest hits theaters on May 13th, 2011.
