With his latest movie, the Jake Gylenhall science fiction thriller The Source Code doing so well at the box-office, it was only a matter of time until we hear more news about the director, Duncan Jones.

GeekTyrant is reporting that Jones is taking a meeting with Fox to discuss the possibility of director the Hugh Jackman project, that Darren Aronofsky abandoned a few weeks ago. Here’s what they had to say.

Just got a message from one of my followers on Twitter – about a SOURCE CODE Q&A in London that Duncan Jones did, where he stated that he has a meeting with Fox coming up regarding the possibility of him taking over WOLVERINE in lieu of Aronofsky’s departure.   That said, apparently the MOON & SOURCE CODE director feels like he would rather do his own original sci fi script next, but is taking the meeting more or less to explore options and be polite.

SO – what do you think of the director of SOURCE CODE and MOON taking on WOLVERINE in Japan?  Personally, I have lost a lot of interest in the project since Aronofsky’s departure.   I mean.   My heart still feels a bit broken over losing that pairing.

Nothing is confirmed, but after seeing The Source Code, I think Jones could do the film justice … as long as he stays (relatively) true to the comics.

What do you think?
