Here come the Men In Black for a third time!
I know what you are thinking: Men in Black was great, while the sequel was noticeably less than stellar. Why would they make a third? The answer is while it wasn’t great, Men in Black II made a lot of money.
Despite all the reported script troubles and delays, Men in Black III is embarking on the second half of principal photography with Will Smith as Agent J and Tommy Lee Jones playing Agent K. However, Tommy Lee Jones wasn’t seen on set, because Josh Brolin is playing a younger version of Agent K.
According to the UK’s Daily Mail, the plot for the movie involves time-travel.
Apparently, Agent J (Smith) has to go back in time to foil the film’s villain, Boris, who has also traveled back in time to try and kill Agent K (Jones and Brolin) in order to set off a chain of events which will result in the end of the world.
The movie had a complete script overhaul in November, and rumors persist that it was because Smith was not happy with the way the movie was being done, and it delayed the shooting schedule by a month.
The movie is directed by Barry Sonnenfield, who directed Men In Black II and Men In Black, is due out on May 23 2012 and also stars Alice Eve, Emma Thompson, Nicole Scherzinger, Rip Torn and Johnny Knoxville.
