Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future . . . man I hated the way that armor looked. Amidst all that death and destruction, Captain Power had the time to polish his armor to that mirror, retina burning shine. I guess when you’re fighting machines it helps to be shiny. I mean you wouldn’t want to sneak up on your enemies, that would not live up to the Captain Power legacy. So it is with a hope that an update will start with that incredibly stupid looking armour and then go on to eliminate any toy driven story lines.

I guess I have an ingrained aversion to shows that are built around a toy and not a story. The creator, Gary Goddard and Urban Archipelago Films. Don’t worry, I’ve never heard of them either and after looking at their website I am not encouraged. There is a Facebook page up, touting a 2012 return of the Captain. The original show does have some pretty popular scifi television writers; J. Michael Straczynski (Creator, Babylon 5), Michael Reaves (Novelist and Emmy winning writer of Batman: The Animated Series), Marc Scott Zicee (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: DS9, Sliders), and Larry DiTillio (Masters of the Universe, Beast Wars).
