Halo’s New FanFic Is A Nerds Wet Dream..Teaser Indeed!

A promising FanFic by Majic Pictures in association with Divine Film Studio is in the making.

While talks of a Hollywood film have been going around the rumor mill and teasing Halo fans for a long fucking time (Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson, blah blah blah, lies, tales, and exaggerations), Majic pictures has actually been doing something about it. Halo has a huge fan base, what with the successful games and novels and graphic novels all being huge hits- so its no surprise that someone on the web (with a helluva lot of time on their hands) has been taking advantage of it. Previous pictures have run from absolute pwnage to kind of crappy (IE Operation Chastity…so not up to par and made me want to force those guys into true chastity, ya know, just for fun). However the Majic guys are back in a huge way with Halo: Faith. This is a short film to be distributed by Machinima.com via their Youtube Channel.

Halo: Faith is being directed by Jared Pelletier and here’s the plot summary:

Three Spartan II’s are called to defend power generators for the Orbital MAC Cannon’s during the initial Covenant attacks on Reach.

So far, the teaser poster (which is fantastic, comments to follow) claims is it directed by Jared Pelletier. Their Facebook page says that the credits are “always changing” but this particular one is pretty steady.

Alright, enough technical information, on to the posters.

The images for Halo: Faith look fantastic, to be seriously understated. While I loved the trailer for Halo ODST, and have much nerd nostalgia for when I first saw that, my first look at these posters blew me away.

Lets be honest here. Sometimes, fanfic movies are fucking terrible. Just look back at when the guy got shot filming a fanfic (and believe me, their flick was so not worth being shot for…). This one, and some past films, blow the idea of fanfic out of the water. Beautifully designed and executed, their posters are completely CG, as are the movies except for the actors. And these guys are no amateurs, and they don’t fuck around. Their costuming and acting is tight, and done right (didn’t mean to Dr. Seuss there). The fanfic fad thats been rumbling around the net for awhile in respect to Halo films is wiped out by Machinima.com and Majic Pictures. Can you tell I liked it? The image of the Spartan resting on the rocks is so well done. The devastation behind said dude is very clear. I geeked out looking at posters and images from the film. More information is definatley needed, the story line has not yet been revealed. But rest assured, we will be nerd searching and relaying to info.
