The Hunger Games production have completed casting the roles of the “Tributes,” the children from the 12 districts that must fight to the death in the annual Hunger Games. Take a close look because most likely this movie will be the “starting block” for some new young stars. Who knows, maybe it could launch as many as The Outsiders did. Remember Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillion, and Emilio Estevez all broke out after that film.
So here are the two last Tributes cast, in the roles of Cato and Clove, “career tributes” who are bred to compete in the Games and pose a formidable threat to the stars of the movie, will be played by Alexander Ludwig (Race to Witch Mountain) and Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan).
Any thoughts on the casting decsions? The production company is taking a calculated risk with the amount of “unknowns” cast; but with so large a cast it will most likely work out fine. The roles that really define The Hunger Games are in the hands of some very experianced actors. I can’t wait to see Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, the drunken, former winner that must train Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark to survive in the games.
