Zombies! We never get enough of em’. OK, maybe the genres a bit oversaturated. Regardless, we all welcome a good zombie flick when see one. And, Marc Forster‘s (Quantum of Solace) upcoming World War Z will be one to look out for. It’ll be based off the Max Brooks novel of the same name. If you’re not familar with it, basically the story follows a UN researcher who is gathering stories of the great zombie war. Chronicling a worldwide zombie outbreak through the first-hand accounts of survivors. Interesting take on the genre, eh?

Production will then relocate to the UK and, later, Hungary. Principal photography will last well into the fall.
Are you perhaps nervous that Hollywood will fuck up the epic zombie novel? Well, sit on your hands ’cause the author of the book approves the J. Michael Straczynski (Thor, Babylon 5)and Matthew Michael Carnahan scribed script.
Here’s what he said about it in a previous interview,
I read Straczynski’s first draft, and it was f—ing brilliant. As the book writer I know that’s sacrilege to say, but it really was good. I turned to my wife and said ‘Honey, this is as good as the book. This is gonna be an amazing movie.
This project has been iffy for a while, but it’ll be worth the wait. With the talent involved (oh yea, Brad Pitt is up for the lead role btw), I’m feeling that Brook’s zombie tale will be well executed. In fact, I might even call in early prediction and say it will be one of the top 5 zombie movies of all time. It’s got EPIC written all over it. Time will tell my friends, time will tell.
