Michael Bay has released the following two TV spots for his upcoming, Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The two snippets are full of footage we’ve already seen, except for maybe some quick shots of the bayformers – transformers that Bay just made the fuck up. If you check out the first spot (15 sec. mark), you’ll see a crimson transformers (fans are guessing that it’s Mirage) and a skeletal bird or bat robot of sorts. Plus we see a bunch more of that robo-tapeworm doing some tentacle pr0n on a skyscraper. He’s literally fucking the city. So we got that and the unrealistically hot girl, explosions, outer space, and people running. Oh my.
I fewking hated the first two Transformers flicks with a passion. I’ve been speaking ill words towards ‘Dark of the Moon’, but recently my mood has started to change. I’m still almost certainly sure that it’s gonna blow (still pissed btw at how the franchise keeps distancing itself from the source material), but with the promise of a solid story and a ton of robot smashing action, I’m kinda holding some cautious optimism. I really want to like it.
The Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009’s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There’s new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime “Transformers” character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.
Dark of the Moon is set to be released in 3D, 2D and IMAX theaters on June 29th.
