Have you ever seen something so bad that it seemingly defies all expectations of badness and manages to transcend to something else?
That happened while I was watching a University frat production of Turn Off The Dark Knight, a Batman-themed rip-off of the amazingly bad (yet still being shown) broadway play, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark.
Right off the bat (hehehe, see what I did there?), Bruce Wayne starts singing Lady Gaga, and that was just bad. And then the Joker starts singing a slow-tempo song, and I had to turn it off. But, after a minute or so of cringing at my computer, I turned it back on and just started to laugh at the badness. And, to their credit, they don’t shy away from it! In fact, they embrace it.
So, who am I to critique?
Just watch it with a sense of humor, and you’ll be sure to get a kick out of it.
