All we know of Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises is that Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) and Bane (Tom Hardy) are in the film, and there is some sort of flashback structure that involves a young version of Ra’s al Ghul, the villain of Batman Begins. Oh, and everyone and their mother is in it. A bloated cast consisting of about 18 or so other characters that include series regulars like Micheal Cain, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and newcomers to the franchise including, Matthew Modine, Tom Conti, Joey King, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis, Daniel Sunjata, Diego Klattenhoff and Burn Gorman.
Now it looks like there may be another shocking addition to the film. HitFix has reported that Liam Neeson has been seen on the set and may be reprising his Batman Begins Ra’s al Ghul role! Huzzah! It should be noted that Drew McWeeny at HitFix has tried to confirm his info with Warner Bros., which politely declined to comment at all, but Warner Bros. is foolin’ no one. Neeson’s involvement seems fairly obvious, given the recent set pics of the lazarus pit and Nolan’s previous comments about the film book ending the first one.
Neesons supposed time on set could be nothing but a flash-back. However, if Nolan is indeed aiming to bring an appropriate close to the trilogy, it only makes sense that things would come full circle to Ra’s.
