It’s been over 50 days since we got a video blog from Peter Jackson updating us on the production of The Hobbit. In that time, I’ve jerked off a lot. A whole lot. Seriously, If Dexter walked in here with that Luminol stuff it’d look like a Jackson Pollock museum. But that’s neither here or there, just an admission of my fertility *wink*. As far as Hobbit stuff goes, we’ve heard of some last minute casting updates (Luke Evans as Grim the Bard, Benedict Cumberbatch voicing Smaug) and we’ve seen some nifty official character photos of Bilbo, Gandalf and most recently some Dwarfs, but all-in-all it’s been all quiet on The Hobbit front.
Well, now we have Vlog #2 featuring Jackson and Andy Serkis. In the 10 minute+ Vlog you’ll hear them discuss how exhausted they are, how they are in pre-production and post-production at the same time, what cast and crew are doing on production break. You’ll also see Jackson do some location scouting. Like any other past video update from Jackson, it gives you a fascinating insight. It brings you that much more into world at hand.
They’ve got 200 more days left of shooting (whoa). The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is set for release on December 14, 2012 and The Hobbit: There and Back Again is scheduled for release on December 13, 2013.
