When you think of he word Dwarf, what usually comes to mind are those seven miners from Snow White, or perhaps some vertically challenged person on one of them little people living in a big world shows on TLC. Bah! These three could kick the shit out of all of them.
So yea, here’s your first look at dwarves Bofur, Bombur and Bifur from Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Bofur, Bombur and Bifur are being played by veteran actors Stephen Hunter, James Nesbitt and William Kircher.
“While most of the Company of Thorin Oakensheild is related to the royal and noble line of Durin, Bofur, his brother Bombur and their cousin Bifur most definitely are … not. Born and bred in the West, descendants of coal miners and iron workers, they have joined the Quest for the Lonely Mountain partly to seek their fortune and partly because they were told the beer was free.”
Whoever is doing the costume design for The Hobbit deserves some kind of reward, it’s stunning. They’re making a serious effort to make sure each dwarf looks unique and distinct. You gotta love how fat Bombur is.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opens in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on December 14th 2012.
