Robert Rodriguez revealed at Comic Con that he and Frank Miller had a sequel to Sin City in the works, but approximated that filming wouldn’t start until next year. I’m sure these two gentleman are tickled pink that they’ve acquired the financing to start as soon as possible, and Robert Rodriguez released a statement confirming their excitement for both Sin City 2, and Machete 2.
“Sin City 2 is going good, we’re just finishing the script for that, we already got the money. We have everything we need so we can just start shooting as soon as we get the pages. And it’s the same thing for Machete 2. We’ve already got the budget, just waiting for the script. As soon as we’re finished writing we get to start the shoot.”
So pretty much all fans of Sin City are gonna have to wait on Frank Miller to type away at that script, but despite this the film is all set to go into production. Now we have another bone to chew on though, ‘cause now that they are assuring us a sequel we’ll be left in the dark as to what stories will connect with the first film. There have been so many different concepts of the sequel and casting rumors since the first films release it’s really hard to tell what is gonna be in the film until that script is finished.
The real big question out of all this speculation is whether, after all of these years, are people still excited to see a sequel?
