“In Nolan We Trust”. That’s a mantra, a daily affirmation we use to reaffirm our faith in Christopher Nolan and his Bat-quel The Dark Knight Rises. However, believing in Nolan this time around hasn’t been easy. The TDKR’s large cast has us worried. Catwoman lookin’ rather un-catlike has us purrrrturbed. Bane? Well goddamn, that’s crisis of faith right there.
Seriously, not only is Bane half the size of Batman, but if his camo rape suit and goatise facial apparatus isn’t enough, his voice sounds like that of a farting smurf. He’s the supposed big bad of the movie and he looks like he just stepped out of Club Avalon on festish night. Suffice to say, the impression of him thus far has caused quite the stir in the nerd community. Everyone has been talking shit. Including us.
Well, the spewing of hateful comments has hurt Bane, that is Tom Hardy‘s feelings. The smack talk makes him cry. Seriously. Read on.
In a recent interview with cinemovie.tv, Tom Hardy admits that he reads the negative comments that have been made about Bane, and jokes that fans want to him to be 400lbs. He jokingly says in the interview, “I do read comments and I cry. I can’t cry for everybody.” He goes on to say that he understands that fans loves their superheroes and that whoever steps into that role will be scrutinized. “So many people love him. And when you step into that role – you are going to fail. And be judged.” Hardy tries to deal with all of this by “switching off” but he says that “he’s human and its hard to ignore the blogosphere.”
Hardy concludes the interview by saying… “Just trust me. I trust Nolan.”
Alright Hardy, we here at NerdBastards will shut our pie holes till the flick comes out. If you and Nolan Fail to impress, you can expect a full revolt.
