Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut.

Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at nerdybits@nerdbastards.com.

Darth Vader throws out the first pitch on Star Wars night at the Oakland A’s stadium. Does he reach the plate? NOOOOOOO! (TDW: Geek)

Every time is Time Lord time when you’re traveling with the Doctor! Doesn’t this look a great design for a Saturday morning cartoon a la Mr Peabody or something. I’d watch it. (Fashionably Geek)

Dudes, this is a cake! A cake! One incredible R2-D2 cake, how could you bring yourself to eat it!? I mean, I could, don’t doubt me when it comes to eating cake, but it’d be a tough task to destroy something so beautiful…and tasty. (Geek Tyrant)

All right, this is spectacular. A godzilla knit cap! I wonder if those scales light up when you unleash your atomic breath? (Fashionably Geek)

Okay, Jedi Kittens, you’ve got competition. Whose cuter? Who pleases Star Wars fans more? It’s on! Jedi Dogs vs Jedi Kittens! (TDW: Geek)

I’ve got a secret to admit. I haven’t watch Battlestar Galatica. I know, heresy. But I’ve been assured this is a damn nifty replica of the “Top Gun” stein, so enjoy! (/Film)

What are you supposed to do when you’re a zombie in love. Write a compelling, catchy love song. Duh. (Geek Tyrant)

Mash-ups are all the rage, right? This is probably one of the best. A brilliant mashing of  The Simpsons’ episode, “Deep Space Homer” and the trailer for Apollo 13. You’re welcome. (TDW: Geek)

Recently there was a big charity auction with 1,500 pairs of the Nike MAG, of Back to the Future fame, to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease Research. Which was totally awesome. But with the shoes going for about $400 a piece, most fans probably didn’t score a pair. Unless you were smart enough to create your own in LEGO, which is way cooler anyhow. (Fashionably Geek)

I leave you with this, Batman eating a hotdog. I can’t even remember if I’ve shared this in Nerdy Bits before or not. But who cares. It’s a perfect way to end any post. (TDW: Geek)
