He was a creator, co-founder, chairman and face of one of the largest companies in the world, but Apple’s Steve Jobs has passed away.
Apple announced his death without giving a specific cause.
“We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today, ” the company said in a brief statement.
Jobs suffered a number of serious health issues over the years. In 2004, he announced he had a rare — but treatable — form of pancreatic cancer … and had a tumor successfully removed from his pancreas later that year.
In 2009, Jobs received a liver transplant after announcing his “health-related issues were more complex than I thought.”
He was just 56 years old.
Jobs is survived by his wife, Laurene, and 4 children.
Apple has released the following statement:
Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and inspiring mentor. Steve leaves the company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.
Why is this story on Nerd Bastards? If you take a look at Steve Job’s history, you will know that his presence in the tech, music, and film industry have shaped a lot of things. I.E. Pixar, Disney. So he did things, nerdy things.
RIP Steve – thank you for changing the world as we know it.
Lets get some shots.
