Last year we reported that Guilermo del Toro and David Eick had signed on to the Incredible Hulk TV series from ABC Studios and Marvel TV. There has not been much word on the subject since. At the Marvel Television panel at this year’s New York Comic Con however, Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb grazed the subject HulkTV, saying what The Hulk will look like.

Loeb says that the Hulk will look “as closely as possible” like how he will look in the Avengers movie. “I’m very, very confident that the Hulk you’re going to see when we finally get on the air on ABC, is going to look like something other than us putting a lot of paint on Lou Ferrigno,” Loeb said yesterday.

Loeb also confirmed a few other bits of Marvel TV speculation – Cloak & Dagger and Mockingbird are still in development at ABC Family, and AKA Jessica Jones will feature Carol Danvers (Ms. Marvel) and Luke Cage within.

Will hear more details come time of casting, which will be happening early in the year.

You could do a CGI Hulk if it could be pulled off, the Cylons in Battlestar Galactica and the werewolves in the american Being Human were CG and looked good, wonder if they would use the same VFX team.

TV Hulk is going to have the same design and CG model from the Avengers to cut costs but not the same actor.

Superman Returns costume was reused for Smallville I suppose they’re doing the same thing I guess by reusing the cg Hulk from The Avengers.

The CG model they can just put in and make it move about, they’ll probably make shock footage of him leaping and roaring and fighting the army.

We’ll see more Bruce Banner in the series because Hulk is human most of the time, another way to save money.

Simplify the Hulk effects maybe the only solution because making a TV
series is not the same as making a movie because of time and budget
constraints. A green muscle suit would be Del Toro’s alley because he
likes practial and make up effects, would be like Hellboy were they put
Ron Perlman in a red muscle suit and make up, there was a Hulk suit in
the alternate ending of Scary Movie 3 but that was a comedic
representation of the character, a hulk suit would be like the Hellboy
make up or the Doomsday Smallville make up. Would be interesting if they
go that route have Banner and the Hulk be played by the same actor.
