Sure, October 30th maybe Devil’s Night, but during the day why not contribute in a positive way by marking Women of Wonder Day, an annual fundraising event designed to support charities and local organizations that benefit victims of domestic abuse.

Originally called “Wonder Woman Day,” the fundraiser was started by author Andy Mangels, who’s not only a big fan of DC’s resident Amazon warrior princess, but owns what’s reputed to be one of the largest collections of Wonder Woman memorabilia in the U.S. Since the first Wonder Woman Day in 2006, organizers have raised over $100,000 for charity by auctioning off original artwork and collectibles, autograph signings and other local activities.

For the first time this year, the festivities are extending beyond Portland to Flemington, New Jersey and San Antonio, Texas.

The Portland event will take place at Excalibur Books and feature appearances by Kelly Sue DeConnick, Joëlle Jones, Cat Ferris, and many more. Plus, there will be an auction including a chance to be written into a comic by Brian Michael Bendis. At Comic Fusion in Flemington, Neil Vokes, Jamal Igle and JK Woodward will be in attendance and art by Adam Hughes, David Mack and Ethan Van Sciver will be auctioned off. Meanwhile in San Antonio, attendees can meet Ben Dunn, Matt Frank and Nick Pitarra and bid on artwork by Charlie Adlard, Doug Mahnke, Humberto Ramos.

Intrigued? Get more info on Women of Wonder Day at the event’s website, and if you can’t make it to one of the events in person, you can bid on some original art in an eBay auction. Check out some samples below.
