Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut.
Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at email@example.com.
Disco and Star Wars. Was there ever a better match? Yes, most definetely. I don’t know what’s the weirdest part of this video? The dancing storm troopers, the actors playing Han, Luke and Leia (Who are they? Kris Kristofferson, Donny and Marie Osmond? I’ve got no idea.) or that I guarantee poor Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker and Peter Mayhew are the ones stuck in their costumes. (Geek Tyrant)
My Little Rorschach, cleaning up all the filth in Pony Land. (Fashionably Geek)
A life sized Darth Malgus figure is on its way from Sideshow Collectibles. I saw this dude outside The Old Republic booth at NYCC. For a split second I though it was someone’s incredible costume it looked so real. I imagine you’ll be parting with a large portion of your lifetime earnings to get one, soo, start saving. A new twitter account has become a must follow, @tng_s8 brings you all the glory that could have been Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 8. They tweet out possible plot summaries ranging from the totally plausible:
Geordie falls in love with a beautiful girl who turns out to be the exotic pet of a visiting dignitary. Riker’s birthday party is a success.
To the even too ridiculaous for TNG’s standards:
Data and Geordie build an amazing pillow-fort, but are forced to disassemble it for Cardassian peace talks. Troi finds new life in her hair
But oh, how I would watch this. (TDW: Geek)
Because wouldn’t it be so much better if they Peanuts gang had waited for Cthulhu instead of the Great Pumpkin. More world-ending, yes, but just think of the Halloween special’s impact. For more including comic strips click here. (Neatorama)
While filming R.I.P.D., Ryan Reynolds was caught teaching Jeff Bridges the robot. Because, of course he did. Also, come on, I can’t believe the Dude doesn’t know the robot. (Geek Tyrant)
Bruce Greene of Machinima’s show, Wrecknology invited Chris Hardwick on to destroy an iPhone in liquid nitrogen. They also destroy some broccoli and pork, because when you have liquid nitrogen at your disposal the fun never ends! (Nerdist)
