The Film Adaptation For The Japanese Game Series Is Underway: Trailer For ‘Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney’
The video game series that was released in Japan as Gyakuten Saiban (“Turnabout Trial“) became wildly popular, and so we now have Japanese director Takashi Miike working on a film adaptation of the first installment of the series which will be called Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.
We now have a trailer for the film! Although there aren’t any English subtitles, it’s pretty easy to figure out what’s going on in the trailer even if you haven’t played the game. It could also be a great incentive to learn Japanese, eh?
Hiroki Narimiya plays the lead role of the attorney Phoenix Wright, Mirei Kiritani takes on the role of Maya Fey and Takumi Saito is prosecutor Miles Edgeworth.
The film will be released in Japan in February of 2012. No idea when it’ll be released in North America or whether there will be title changes or if the movie will be dubbed or subbed. We’ll just have to find out. Or learn Japanese. Whatever. Kantan desu!
